Week 10 Term 4

 


The end of the year is here! Thank you all for a wonderful year, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

There are still some overdue library books, please return these on Monday. Make sure you bring a bag to take all your books etc. home with you. Remember, school finishes at midday on Wednesday, all children must be picked up at this time. 

Monday - 9.00am Tryathalon

Tuesday - 9.00am Prizegiving, R12 iceblock fundraiser.

Wednesday - 11.00am Y6 missioning, school finishes at 12pm.

TRYATHLON 

Monday 14th December 

9.00am - Years 3 - 6    

11:15am - Years 1 - 2

What your child needs: 

Bike / Scooter & Helmet

PE Uniform

Sunhat

Togs & Towel 

        Signs will be put out on the day letting you know where each class is to put their bikes / scooters.

You may like to put something on your child's bike to help them identify it when they come into transition.

Week 9 Term 4

Peter Pan School Production is this week! We will have a full dress rehearsal on Monday so please be prepared.  We have more tickets for all our shows. Tickets can be bought from the School Office for $5.00

SHOW TIME Show Date Information For Families

Tuesday 8th December at 1:00 pm 

Tuesday 8th December at 6:30 pm

Children from Rooms: 1, 3, 5, 15, 17 and Kakano 1, 2, 3 are performing.


Wednesday 9th December at 1:00 pm

Wednesday 9th December at 6:30 pm

Children from Rooms: 2, 4, 12, 14, 16 and Kakano 4, 5, 6, 7, 8  are performing.


The main cast are performing in all four shows.

ALL main cast actors need to be at school at  5.30pm. 

All remaining cast please be at school at 5.50pm. Children need to meet in their classrooms, changed in their costumes.



Student Learning Celebration Morning: This Thursday from 8am - 10am parents and caregivers are welcome to come along and see what their child has been learning.


Monday - Dress rehearsal


Tuesday - Production performances 1.00pm and 6.30pm, all mains and Room 3.


Wednesday - Production performances 1.00pm and 6.30pm, all mains.


Thursday - Student Celebrations


Friday - Mass 9am.


We will start collecting goods to put in Christmas Hampers for needy families and also food items we can donate to St Vincent de Paul’s Foodbank. If you have food items you can donate please get your child to bring them to class or they can put them under the tree in the foyer.

We are publishing a school magazine again this year and this will be available during the last week of this term. At this stage there will only be 100 magazines printed. It will be a great memento of 2020. We sold out last year. Orders are taken now with the cost for the magazine being $10.00.

Holiday Reading Information is being sent home this week. Children can immediately start entering the books they are reading or books that have been read to them.

And finally a heads up regarding the purchase of sports tops. For all sports, except Netball and Basketball, you will be required to buy your own shirts for the 2021 season. PE shirts can be purchased from our School’s Uniform Shop.

Week 8 Term 4

Thanks to all parents who have volunteered to help with the Blue Lake picnic on Wednesday. Please be at school ready to leave by 9am. We will return to school by 2.30. We will be walking around the lake before participating in activities, including swimming. Make sure you bring togs and a towel, a sunhat, a water bottle, lunch and snacks, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and a warm jumper. If it is raining we will stay at school where there will be some fun activities.

Tuesday - Advent Liturgy at 12.15 in the Church

Wednesday - Blue Lake Picnic

Thursday - Production dress rehearsals group A

Friday - Production dress rehearsals group B, sausage sizzle.

There will be production rehearsals for the cast and choir running throughout the week.

Your child has already received a notice last week about this. Students are to bring snacks and water. End of Year Mass is Friday the 11th December 2020 at 9:00am. All welcome. At this Mass we acknowledge our year 6 students as they prepare to move on to intermediate school. 

Our end of year school prizegiving is on the 15th December 2020 at 9:00am. All welcome

Year 6 Retreat Tomorrow

A reminder that all Year 6 students are to meet at St Michael’s church at 8:30am tomorrow (Thursday) in mufti. Mass begins at 9am and we need to be seated beforehand. Can students please bring a can of food to add to the offertory.

The weather looks changeable, if it is just showers we will continue with our programme of walking back via Kuirau park so please pack a raincoat as well as lunch and a drink. If the weather is poor we will bus back to the St Mary’s church and continue the programme there. 


Mr James and Mrs Hall will be leading the Retreat.

Week 7 Term 4

Welcome to week 7! Messages for the week:

No swimming this week. The Year 6 retreat is on Thursday. Please meet at St Michael's church car park between 8.30am and 8.45am. Students may wear mufti and will need their school bags. They will walk back to St Mary's after lunch and will finish at the normal time. A notice will go out tomorrow with more details. Year 5 will have their leadership day at school.


Monday - Dance rehearsal at lunch playtime.

Wednesday - Library

Thursday - Year 6 retreat and Year 5 leadership day.

Friday - Go4 it (bring your PE gear!) Sausage sizzle


Wednesday, December 2nd is the Totara End of Year Picnic.

Week 6 Term 4

This week we have a swimming instructor coming to take the senior students each day. This means that you will need your swimming gear every day this week! If you are not able to swim for medical reasons you must bring a note.

Interschool athletics is on Tuesday this week.  

Monday - Swimming

Tuesday - Swimming, Dance.

Wednesday - Swimming, Library

Thursday - Swimming, Kapa Haka (practice moved to the morning), JPC orientation in the afternoon.

Friday - Swimming, Sausage sizzle.

ORIENTATION DAYS FOR 2021 YEAR 7S: at JOHN PAUL COLLEGE. Thursday 19th

Parents are to make own travel arrangements for their child – arriving at JPC by 12.00pm and collected by 2.30pm

 

All students attending JPC Orientation Day are to bring their lunch. They will have a guided tour of the campus, have lunch and be given a booklet with College commencement information and uniform lists etc.
